Mothers Offering Memory Making Activities and Support. This group
is for supporting mothers (mainly Stay-At-Home-Moms and Work-At-Home-Moms
but all are welcome) We are a group of supportive moms in Johnson
County, Indiana. Our group includes homeschoolers as well as private
and public schoolers. We welcome all ages. Although this group
will be primarily a group for mom support, kids will be welcome
majority of the times we meet except for Mom's Night Outs and
etc. We have a variety of activities we offer. Some activities
are Mom's Nights Out, Dad and Child Events, Family Get Togethers,
Seasonal activities, Teen activities and book clubs, Toddler and
Preschool Playtimes, 9-12 activities, Educational Craft Activities
and Field Trips, Weight Loss Group, upcoming 5-8 milk and bookies
program, monthly family International Dinner, plus much more.
This group is a very active group. We do ask that all members
try to help whenever possible with volunteer opportunities.

Comments: P.E.A.R.s (Pairing
Education and Recreation) is a homeschool support group for Johnson
County and surrounding areas. There is no statement of faith and
no year-long commitment to co-op teaching (although parents are
expected to help plan and participate in most gatherings). P.E.A.R.s
is a moderate group, involving neither prayer nor politics. All
religions are welcome. If you don't describe yourself as Left
or Right, this may be your group! It is simply about homeschooling.
Some things we have done or are planning to do are: park days,
gym days, Halloween party, gift-making and Valentine's Day parties,
board games day, one day co-op classes (pastels, astronomy, environmental
river watch testing, etc.), and presentation days in which the
kids share an art piece, talent, knowledge or recitation. The
classes and field trips will change yearly as the parents contribute
and plan the events based upon their skills and ideas! We will
meet two Fridays a month during the school year and several times

There
are several good regional and statewide e-lists for homeschoolers
throughout the state of Indiana. Because of the always changing
nature of many lists, it's hard to keep up with them. If you are
interested in finding a more specific or focused e-list, we suggest
you search YahooGroups.
You might also want to ask around on the IndianaHomeschoolers
List for recommendations. IndianaHomeschoolers is the largest
networking e-list in the state, and the best place to find answers
to most all homeschooling questions.

Civil Air Patrol promotes aerospace education and other activities
for youth ages 12-18. The Weir Cook Squadron meets at Indianapolis
International Airport on Mondays from 7:00-9:00 PM and has had
many homeschool members over the years. Some parents use the aerospace
portion of the program as academic credit.
